baby sea turtles

A group collects eggs laid by sea turtles on Kuta beach, protects them until they hatch, then releases them safely into the sea. They were going to release ~50 the day I was there.

A Chinese lady who couldn't speak much English walked up as the man in charge was speaking passionately about the thousands of turtles he had helped save in 2007, and the only English phrase she managed to get out was "Can I eat?"
